President Jahjaga sent her felicitations to President Obama

President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, sent her felicitations to President of the United States of America, Barak Obama, on the occasion of the 237th anniversary of the independence of United States of America.

Felicitatory letter states:

Dear Mr. President,

On behalf of the people of Kosovo and my personal behalf, I convey the best wishes to You and the American people as you mark the Two Hundred and Thirty-seventh Anniversary of the Independence of the United States of America and celebrate the freedom, liberty and prosperity of your nation.

The United States of America’s commitment to democracy and freedom, diversity and equality, harmony and prosperity in its soil and around the world is an inspiration for the Republic of Kosovo and its young democratic institutions, built with the support of the American people and the tireless efforts of thousands of men and women who trusted our determination to aspire and pursue the common values that we share with your country. These values that have guided your engagement in Kosovo secured peace and stability for its citizens and provided the region with the chance to open a new chapter.

We will always remain grateful for your help and support. We will remain committed to strengthening the foundations of a democratic Kosovo, where all its citizens, regardless of their religious or ethnic background enjoy equal rights, and to pursuing a policy of good neighbourly relations with all the countries in the region as we strive to join the European Union and NATO in permanent partnership and friendship with your country.

I wish you warm celebrations on this special day.

Please accept, Mr. President, the assurances of my highest consideration.
