President Jahjaga received UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi PillayPresident of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today at a meeting the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Ms. Navi Pillay.
President Jahjaga emphasized that Kosovo has achieved considerable advances in promotion and advancement of human rights, which are incorporated into the Constitutions and laws of the country. She also said that Kosovo is a state built upon civil principles where all its citizens, regardless, enjoy its equal rights.
Madam President also stated that tolerance and understanding are values of the Kosovar society and that citizens of all communities have equal oportunities.
Un High Commissioner for Human Rights, Ms. Navi Pillay, emphasized that her first visit to Kosovo serves her to get a closer acquaintance with the human rights situation of all communities and groups in Kosovo. Ms. Pillay also stated that it is important that all citizens, regardless, as well as all communities become familiar with the human rights and enjoy them.
