President Jahjaga received Ulrike Lunacek, the European Parliament Rapporteur for Kosovo

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga received today the European Parliament Rapporteur for Kosovo and the European Parliament deputy, Ulrike Lunacek.

The meeting focused on recent developments in Kosovo and the next Progress Report from the European Commission Liaison Office in Kosovo to align the Kosovo institutions with the European agenda.

Ulrike Lunacek thanked the President for the meeting and wished her further success in her tasks to overcome the many challenges which Kosovo is facing. The European Parliament rapporteur for Kosovo, Ulrike Lunacek urged the acceleration of the obligations arising from the Progress Report of 2009 for Kosovo, including the adoption and implementation of laws by the institutions of Kosovo.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga said that Kosovo has a clear European agenda with numerous ongoing activities in implement the recommendations of the Progress Report for Kosovo. In particular, liberalization of visa for free movement in Europe for the citizens of Kosovo would help Kosovo on its European path, as well as the acceleration of the contractual relations with the EU. President Atifete Jahjaga reaffirmed that the presence of the European institutions continues to offer full support to Kosovo in its European agenda.
