President Jahjaga received the head of UNMIK, Farid Zarif

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga received today the representative for Kosovo of the UN Secretary-General, Farid Zarif, with whom she discussed about the UNMIK mission, the general situation in Kosovo, about the process of community integration and the return and resocialization process.

President Jahjaga stressed that the Republic of Kosovo is a factor of peace and stability built on the civic principle where all citizens exercise their individual and collective rights and liberties of, whereas on the situation in the three northern municipalities of the country President Jahjaga said that the only solution is within the Ahtisaari package and the process of decentralization and that in these municipalities as soon as possible municipal elections must be held so that residents there freely choose the legal and legitimate representatives and to be fully integrated by implementing the constitutionality and legality of the Republic of Kosovo and by removing all parallel structures in order to effectively combat smuggling and organized crime.

The meeting of President Jahjaga with Farid Zarif is in the framework of the regular informative meetings which the Head of the UNMIK Mission holds with the President of the country.
