President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga received today at a meeting the Bishop of the Diocese of Kosovo, Monsignor Dodë Gjergji, who was accompanied by his collaborators.
Monsignor Gjergji thanked President Jahjaga for the support that she has provided to the catholic community in Kosovo and praised her work as a factor of unity of the people of Kosovo. While wishing Madam President a merry Christmas, Monisgnor Gjergji also informed her about all the activities and engagements of the Diocese. Monisgnor Dodë Gjergji also showed his interest on the current proceedings of the Law on religious communities in Kosovo.
President Jahjaga said that Christmas is a holiday day of peace, of love and respect, and at the same time wished Monsignor Gjergji happy holidays. She also stated that the Catholic Church in Kosovo has played an important role, together with all the other religious communities, and emphasized the need for the nurturing of the diversity and religious tolerance in the country.
