President Jahjaga received the Ambassador of Australia, Michael Potts

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today the Ambassador of Australia in Vienna, nonresident for Kosovo, Michael Potts.

President Jahjaga has appreciated the assistance Australia has provided and continues to give to Kosovo and its support for the processes through which the country is passing. She said that the participation and membership in international organizations and institutions, and the increasement of new recognitions of the country is important.

President Jahjaga said that the independence of Kosovo is a factor of peace and stability in the region and stressed the importance of integration into Euro-Atlantic organizations.

Ambassador Michael Potts, while congratulating the President on her election as head of the country, said that Australia will continue to assist Kosovo in all the processes of integration and in particular in the process of the recognition of Kosovo by the countries that have not yet done so.

He said that his country supports Kosovo’s membership in all international organizations and institutions, including the financial ones. Ambassador Potts said that Australia insists that the process of the EU enlargement should continue.
