President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga is currently visiting Zagreb, where she is attending the manifestations celebrating the accession of the Republic of Croatia into European Union.
President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga is currently visiting Zagreb, where she is attending the manifestations celebrating the accession of the Republic of Croatia into European Union.
Manifestations are being attended by a number of leaders of the countries of the region and further afield.
President Jahjaga congratulated on behalf of the people of Kosovo and on her personal behalf the Republic of Croatia on this historic success and emphasized that the merit for Croatia joining the European Union rests with its people and its institutions.
President Jahjaga also stated that Croatia’s membership will expedite the integration of the rest of the western Balkans into European Union, which will be an added value for the Union and a guarantee for the prosperity, stability and cooperation in the region.
Taking into consideration the difficult past through which we have traverse as a region, the countries of the western Balkans consider the joining of the union of free nations as a guarantee that we will be building societies of free and equal citizens, rule of law and order and transformation of our states into democratic countries of grand oportunities, said President Jahjaga.
