President Jahjaga met with Mrs. Madeline Albright

President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, during her stay in London, where she is participating at the international conference “Role of the women in peace and security”, met today with the former US Secretary of State, Mrs. Madeline Albright.

President Jahjaga and former State Secretary Albright spoke about the role and position of women in society and about the advancement of women’s rights. Mrs. Albright congratulated President Jahjaga on her efforts and for her presentation of the State of Kosovo and for her engagement for the protection of the rights and freedoms of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo and praised the achievements of Kosovo and advancement of the democratic processes in the country.

Mrs. Albright also congratulated President Jahjaga on the achievement of the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia in Brussels.

President Jahjaga thanked the former Secretary of State for all her work and engagements for Kosovo and for the advancement of the democratic processes in the country. She stated that the help of the USA for Kosovo is crucial and praised the American contribution towards the stability in the region.

Madam President also stated that normalisation of relations between the Republic of Kosovo and Republic of Serbia, through the dialogue process being held in Brussels, helps towards establishment of the peace and easing of the lives of citizens on both sides of the border. She also emphasized that the agreement reached on Friday will help the relaxation of relations and will advance the European integration processes of both countries.
