President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, met today at “Adem Jashari” Prishtina International Airport with former EU Special Envoy for Kosovo, Austrian Ambassador, Mr. Wolfgang Petritsch.
President Jahjaga thanked Ambassador Petritsch for all his contributions and engagements for Kosovo, both on pre war and post war periods, as well as during the state building period. She stated that Republic of Kosovo has become a factor of peace and stability in the region and is contributing towards strengthening of good neighbourliness among the Balkan countries.
President Jahjaga said that Kosovo has made considerable achievements on its path of European integrations and that institutions of the country are dedicated towards building of a democratic state of law, where all citizens, enjoy equal rights and oportunities, regardless.
Ambassador Petritsch congratulated Madam President on the achievements of Kosovo in all fields and for important steps undertaken towards normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.
He emphasized that the future of Kosovo and all the countries of the Balkan region lies within the EU.
Meeting with Ambassador Petritsch took place at the Prishtina International Airport, as President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga was on her way to Vienna, on an official visit to Austria, upon invitation made by the President of Austria, Mr. Heinz Fischer.
