President Jahjaga congratulated the Bishop of Kosovo, Monsignor Dodë Gjergji

The Catholic Church has always played a major role to the people, in the principle of the Religion and Fatherland, by being close to people and having faith and commitment to freedom, independence and progress of our people and homeland.

Honorable Bishop of the Diocese of Kosovo,
Monsignor Dodë Gjergji,

On the occasion of the celebration of the Day of Christmas I congratulate You, Bishop of Kosovo and all the Catholic believers of the Republic of Kosovo, with the best wishes that we all spend this holiday in the atmosphere of joy and understanding, with tables filled with the blessings that God has given to us.

Honored Bishop,

The Catholic Church has always played a major role to the people, in the principle of the Religion and Fatherland, by being close to people and having faith and commitment to freedom, independence and progress of our people and homeland.

I wish that this remarkable day will be spent in prayers and remembrance for all those who became martyrs for the freedom of the homeland, that we today are equal, sovereign and dignified alongside other peoples of the world.

We are happy that we today are building Kosovo, a sovereign and independent state, in the civic principle, respecting the highest human values, as a society in which all citizens, regardless of race, religion or ethnic origin, enjoy the equal freedoms and rights.

This is the essence of faith in man, God’s creation, in redemption, as prayer of purification, in the virtues of commitment to love, understanding and support for each other.

Atifete Jahjaga,
President of the Republic of Kosovo
