Prishtina, 28 June 2011

Honored Mr. President,

On the occasion of the celebration of the 235th anniversary of your Declaration of Independence on July 4th, on behalf of the Republic of Kosovo and its citizens, and in my name, I send you the best wishes for the government and people of the United States of America.

The 4th of July is an important date not only for your country but for the entire world. This date is a synonym of the value of life, liberty and the search for happiness. These values are already universal and the global role of the United States is important in promoting them.

The relationship and friendship of Kosovo with the United States is deep and steadfast. We will continue to contribute to peace, stability and progress in the Balkans.

The active engagement of the United States remains crucial and irreplaceable for the stability and development of our region. We will continue to rely on your support for the implementation of the Euro-Atlantic aspirations of Kosovo, and to expand the recognition of our state.
