The president of the Republic of Kosovo, Madam Atifete Jahjaga, who is staying in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, at the invitation of former Czech president, Vaclav Havel took part Tuesday night at the official opening of the three-day proceedings of the 15th Forum 2000 Conference.
At the official opening of this Forum, in which the President of the Republic of Kosovo is invited as a panelists, well known personalities and experts of specific fields participated, among them Vaclav Havel, Joseph Stiglic, Nobel Prize laureate for economics, Jacques Rupnik , well known political scientist, Adam Mihnik, publicists and other world personalities.
At the beginning of the Forum 2000 Conference, the President of the Republic of Kosovo met with a number of personalities and participants in this conference.
President Jahjaga during the proceedings of this forum will hold a speech and will participate in debates on topics that will be treated in the conference with the theme “Democracy and Rule of Law”.
Today, President Jahjaga, has placed flowers at the monument of Jan Palach, the Czech student who was sacrificed by public burning, becoming so symbol of the Prague Spring as a symbol of the anticommunist movement and the efforts for liberation and for the establishment of democracy in many European countries.
President Jahjaga, in the context of the visit to the Czech Republic, also visited the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in this country, where she was received by Ambassador Hilmi Zogjani and the Embassy staff.
