The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga and the Ambassador of the United States of America, Christopher Dell, signed today, in a ceremony organized in the Cabinet of the President of Kosovo, the first comprehensive bilateral Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Republic of Kosovo.
The agreement includes the cooperation in the field of justice, economic development and foreign investment, the preservation of the diversity of Kosovo and its cultural heritage, as well as the support for civil society engagement in community development.
The Bilateral Agreement also gives a further impetus to the strong partnership between Kosovo and the USA, which has been developed for a long time. It paves the way for a significant strategic cooperation in economy and includes specific areas.
The USA have consistently assisted all sectors in the Republic of Kosovo, on its way of development in a strong democratic country, with a developed economy and with institutions which ensure democratic governance , which support economic development and rule of law.
The Republic of Kosovo has welcomed in continuation the U.S. assistance in all fields of life and sees the cooperation with the U.S. of vital interest in achieving the goals of building a functional state, with a view to faster integration in all regional and international initiatives, as well as rapid membership in the euro-Atlantic institutions.
