Skenderaj/Plluzhina, May 26, 2019 – The President of state, Hashim Thaçi, participated today in the inauguration of the “KLA Base” plaques in the homes of Hasan Tahiri and Idriz Nuraku in Plluzhina, Skenderaj.
President Thaçi has said that this is an area of the extraordinary resistance of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
“It is good that the most sublime values of the nation, the values of the war, the values of the Kosovo Liberation Army, regardless of the time, despite the passing of years, are again those that bring us all closer together and unite us anytime wherever we are as a nation. Drenica is the bastion where the Kosovo Liberation Army was born, where it had developed, where it grew and then the massivization throughout Kosovo. It was not born by chance in Drenica, it was not born by chance by the best sons and daughters of the nation, of those families who generation after generation contributed to the liberation movement of Kosovo, to the national movement. It was not born by chance in the Drenica of Hasan Prishtina, Azem Bejta, Shotë Galica, Shaban Polluzha, Mehmet Gradica, Fazli Grajçevcia and many of the patriots who are monuments of the entire national Albanian movement. Exactly from this patriotic spirit which was passed from generation to generation came the moment of the most powerful resistance, of the most major national and most organized political and military project, the Kosovo Liberation Army”, stated President Thaçi, adding that as long as these values and the families of the martyrs, invalids, veterans are respected, then the country is on the safe path
“Today, my message is as a friend of yours, as your comrade in the heaviest years for the nation, but also the most proud ones of our country, to stand as you have always been united in the war, in peace, and further on. Only by being united we managed to be successful”, he said.
Addressing the Tahiri and Nuraku families in Plluzhina of Skenderaj, President Thaçi emphasized that the state of Kosovo is institutionally respecting and honoring the resistance of the Kosovo Liberation Army in this area, in Plluzhina, Tica, Likoc and this entire area, which was the core of the massivization of the Liberation Army for entire Kosovo.
“We are all witnesses that here the best activists of the nation came to be distributed throughout Kosovo. Here came Fehmi, Xheva, and Commander Kumanova and many other commanders who fell on the forefronts of freedom, to be distributed later throughout Kosovo, to expand the war front of the Kosovo Liberation Army. And it was not a coincidence that they came here firstly. They came because the war had started here. Here there was no Serbia anymore, but there was an organization. Here was the Kosovo Liberation Army”, said President Thaçi.
The Head of State expressed the highest gratitude to all those who fought for the freedom of Kosovo and the families of the martyrs.
“Many heroes, many martyrs have fallen. Today and every time we come here and on every door we knock and enter, we enter into the homes that were the headquarters of the Kosovo Liberation Army. Only that general mobilization made us win”, he said.
Through the inauguration of the “KLA Base” plaques in the homes of Hasan Tahiri and Idriz Nuraku in Plluzhina of Skenderaj, President Thaçi said that the resistance of the war for freedom of the Kosovo Liberation Army is being recalled and honored.
