President Atifete Jahjaga met with the Prime Minister of Albania, Sali Berisha

(President Jahjaga took part in the solemn mass in honor of Christmas)

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, met yesterday with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Sali Berisha, in Tirana, where she made a stop during her return from Prague, where she attended the state funeral in honor of former Czech President Vaclav Havel.

President Jahjaga conveyed to Prime Minister Berisha and to the people of Albania her best wishes for Christmas and New Year 2012.

Prime Minister Berisha also took the opportunity to convey President Jahjaga, all heads of state institutions and the citizens of Kosovo the greetings and best wishes for the holidays.

Both interlocutors expressed the belief that the next year will be an even better year for the citizens of both countries where they will take forward and progress in their major projects for development and European integration.

At the meeting they reconfirmed the willingness of both countries to intensify efforts for the consolidation of bilateral and regional cooperation in order that the Albanians increasingly become a factor for the expansion of cooperation and friendship with all peoples of the region.

Focusing on the 100th anniversary of the independence of the state, Prime Minister Berisha and President Jahjaga reaffirmed that this Jubilee Year will be celebrated by honoring with the highest civic solemnity and the deepest respect the historical events and crucial figures since the League of Prizren up to the independence of Kosovo and the effort and sacrifice of the nation which made it possible for Albanians today to be freer than ever and to walk determined towards their new vision, the European one.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga took part last night in the main mass in honor of the feast of Christmas, which was held in the Cathedral “Mother Theresa” in Prishtina, on Saturday midnight.
