President Atifete Jahjaga met with the President of Croatia, Mr. Ivo Josipović

President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, met today in Munich, Germany with the President of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Ivo Josipović, where both Presidents are in attendance of the 49th Munich Security Conference.

President Jahjaga and President Josipović discussed the expansion of the cooperation between the Republic of Kosovo and Republic of Croatia, processes through which the Balkan region is traversing through and the process of normalisation of relations between the Republic of Kosovo and Republic of Serbia.

President Jahjaga assessed the Croatia’s membership in EU as very important and stated that this will be of help for all the Balkan states on their journey towards European integration. She also said that Croatia could be of help to Kosovo on the field of integrations and in completion of necessary reforms required by this process. Madam President emphasized that relations between Kosovo and Croatia are an example for other countries and added that cooperation must be expanded further in both political and economic aspects as well as in investments.

President Jahjaga continued to say that Republic of Kosovo has made considerable advancement in its European agenda by reaching the standards that would enable the acceleration of the EU integrations process and is proving itself to be a stable country and a promoter of good neighbourliness.

Speaking about the relations with the Republic of Serbia, President Jahjaga said that the dialogue process that is being held in Brussels with the facilitation of EU and strongly supported by the USA, contributes to the relaxation and normalisation of relations between the two independent and sovereign states. Madam President stated that the meeting of two Presidents which will be held in the near future, under the organisation of EU, will help towards normalisation of relations between the two countries and contribute to peace and stability in the region.

President Jahjaga invited President Josipović to visit Kosovo in the near future, an invitation accepted with pleasure by the President of Croatia.

President Josipović appraised the relations between our two countries as excellent one and emphasized that they must be further expanded. He said that Croatia will support Kosovo on its European integrations process and will provide help and support to Kosovo in the field of economy and other respective fields. He also stated that regional cooperation has a great importance and contributes towards the European integration process.
