At the 17th Summit of the Francophonie, taking place in Yerevan, Armenia, member states of the International Organisation of the Francophonie voted unanimously to advance Kosovo’s status in this organisation, from that of an observer to associate member state.
President Thaçi said that this is good news for Kosovo.
“This piece of good news for Kosovo comes from Armenia. From an observer, Kosovo became an associate member of the International Organisation of the Francophonie. We are grateful to member states for affirmation of Kosovo at the francophone family and for their continuous support”, said President Thaçi.
Among the heads of states attending this summit are also the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, Prince Albert II of Monaco, Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama and many other leaders of francophone countries.
