Joint statement of the President, the Speaker of the Assembly and the Prime Minister of Kosovo

President Osmani, Speaker Konjufca and Prime Minister Kurti received in a meeting the heads of the “Thirrjet e Nënave” (Mothers’ Calls) association

President Vjosa Osmani, together with the Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca, the Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, and the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Ms. Saranda Bogujevci, received today in a meeting the mothers of the missing persons from the organization “Thirrjet e Nënave”.

President Osmani said that the missing are a common wound.

“For the new institutions, the finding of your loved ones – the girls and boys who are of all of Kosovo, is a priority. We are committed and we promise you that we will work unceasingly to find them as soon as possible”, stressed President Osmani.

Speaker Konjufca stressed that all share the pain for the missing.

“As so far, we all share the pain with you. You have given your most loved ones and made the most sublime sacrifice for us to be free today. Therefore, we will work together to ensure the delayed justice”, stressed Speaker Konjufca.

Whereas, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti promised maximum commitment to clarify the fate of the missing.

“The pain and anxiety you experience are incomparable. We will work continuously to guarantee your right to know about the fate of your loved ones”, said Prime Minister Kurti.

On behalf of the “Thirrjet e nënave” association, Mrs. Nusrete Kumnova thanked the heads of state for the reception and understanding.

“We all have high hopes and expectations and we are looking forward for real work to be done and to be acted in order to address the needs and demands of the mothers and the families of the missing”, said Kumnova.

The three institutional leaders guaranteed that they will continue to be close to the mothers and families of the missing and that their priority will be to clarify their fate as a precondition to ensure justice.
