At a meeting with representatives of Quint countries, President Thaçi discussed the economic recovery and the independence of the institutions

Pristina, May 20th 2020 - The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, met today with the ambassadors of the Quint states and the Head of the EU Office, with whom he discussed the economic recovery of Kosovo after the deployment of measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, as well as the need to have functional institutions in the country.

At this meeting, which was attended by the Ambassadors of the United States, Great Britain, France, Germany and Italy, as well as the Head of the EU Office in Kosovo, President Thaçi stressed the importance of respecting the independent institutions.

President Thaçi also spoke about the Zagreb Summit and expressed his disappointment that,  when it came to Kosovo, the issue of visa liberalization that was not on the agenda  and was not even mentioned, with the sole exception of the Prime Minister of Italy to whom  President Thaçi expressed his gratitude.

"This is disappointing and demoralizing for both citizens and politicians," said President Thaci.
