The acting President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani Sadriu held today a virtual meeting with the NDI for Central and Eastern Europe Director Robert Benjamin and Ambassador Nancy Soderberg
At the meeting, parties discussed the success of the parliamentary elections of February 14th, and on this occasion, the NDI representatives conveyed to the acting President congratulations of the former Secretary Madeleine Albright on the historic result of these elections.
The role of women in this process was highly praised, as well as the importance of the establishment of institutions that will reflect the will of the citizens.
Interlocutors also discussed the important role that NDI has played over the years, emphasizing continued support for key processes in the country. Speaking about the priorities of the next government, acting President Osmani pointed out that the focus will be on justice and on the fight against corruption, as well as on creating jobs and prospects for the youth of our country. Both sides agreed that in this journey we must work continuously to ensure transparent processes and a consultative and comprehensive approach.
NDI representatives confirmed that they will stay close to Kosovo as they did before and that the goal is for the engagement to be in full coordination with the governing priorities, by contributing to the realization of these goals through the promotion of the highest standards of governance and of institutional integrity.
