The Acting President of the Republic of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca, together with incoming President Vjosa Osmani, the mayor of Podujeva, Shpejtim Bulliqi, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Donika Gërvalla, paid homage and commemorated the horrific massacre of March 28, 1999 against the Bogujevci and Duriqi families
“This is the least we can do as representatives of the institutions, because commemoration is an elementary obligation to share the grief exactly on the dates when these massacres took place in Kosovo, against the Duriqi and the Bogujevci family on March 28, 1999, from the so-called “Scorpions” units, which were a direct part of the Ministry of Defense of the state of Serbia. Therefore there is no dilemma here as to who is responsible. In your case, it is directly the state of Serbia with the units, with names, who were in those units who committed the massacres against your family”, said Acting President Konjufca.
According to Acting President Konjufca this is the least the institutions can do, the rest is up to justice.
“What Serbia has claimed that it is allegedly prosecuting some war criminals, has only been superficially. They were even released 3-4 years ago. This shows that the Serbian state not only does not feel any remorse for what it has done, but treats them as if they were some ordinary crimes, of everyday life, and not massacres. So just look there is two year old Albion, what a monstrous crime, what man can commit this crime to raise his hand against a two year old child. Such are more than 1000 children killed by the police, military, paramilitary forces of Serbia in Kosovo”, stressed the Acting President.
He further said that precisely because of this and this grief, the institutions are determined to relentlessly seek for justice.
“Because, your souls, your hearts, but also the martyrs we have lost will be able to rest peacefully only when justice comes in place”, said the Acting President.
Acting President Konjufca has said that Serbia’s crimes and genocide will never be forgotten.
“This is a massacre where most of those killed are children and women, and it shows the unparalleled cruelty of the Serbian state and the magnitude of the genocide it committed against our people, our nation, sparing neither infants, nor children, nor women, nor the elderly”, he said.
Mr. Konjufca said that this made us even more determined as institutions to say that we will never compromise on what is at the core of our statehood and freedom.
“At the core of our freedom is the blood of your family members, the blood of your children, who Kosovo lost because of the genocide of Serbia”, stressed Acting President Konjufca.
