Acting President Dr. Vjosa Osmani signs an agreement with USAIDA 33 million dollars grant for Kosovo from the Development Objectives with the United States of America
Acting President, Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, signed today the Development Objectives Grant Agreement with the United States of America. With the signing of this Agreement, the Republic of Kosovo benefits over 33 million dollars from USAID.
This Agreement relates to the USAID Development Objectives for the next five years. Its aim is to provide better service to citizens by accountable and effective governance institutions, and also increasing opportunities for inclusive democratic and economic participation.
The first development objective focuses on the oversight of the institutions by the citizens and civil society, while the second adopts a broader approach towards democratic participation. Its aim is the improvement and cooperate between citizens, civil society, businesses and the public sector so that local communities have a more favorable position to address Kosovo’s development challenges.
Acting President Osmani thanked the American people for their continued support to the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.
“The continuous investment of the USA through various projects is a confirmation of the permanent commitment of the American Government and people towards increasing the overall welfare and social and economic development of the Republic of Kosovo and its citizens”, said Acting President Osmani. She highly praised the work of USAID, emphasizing that this assistance focuses on increasing the accountability of decision makers and institutions, as well as on generating democratic and economic opportunities for all citizens.
