Also at the meeting with President Thaçi were the President of the CEC, Mrs. Valdete Daka, and the General Director of the Kosovo Police, Mr. Shpend Maxhuni.

President Thaçi said that everyone is focused so that the elections of the 11th of June will be democratic, free, and to pass without any incident.

“The intimidation and the threatening of the citizens, especially in the northern part of Kosovo, not to vote freely, remains a concern”, he said.

President Thaçi requested form the Quint countries to make clear to the authorities of Serbia that the interference in Kosovo’s internal affairs will not be tolerated.

“I appeal to you to send a clear message to the authorities in Serbia not to intimidate or threaten the Kosovo Serb citizens and to prevent them from freely expressing their political will”, stated President Thaçi in the meeting.

“This effort to interfere in the internal affairs of our country has passed the framework of the electoral race and has become a violation of our country’s integrity and the security of our citizens”, declared President Thaçi.

The President of the CEC, Mrs. Daka, said that the CEC has made all the preparations for the elections to be fair.

The General Director of the KP, Mr. Maxhuni, said that the Kosovo Police is also cooperating with EULEX and KFOR, to guarantee the security of all the citizens on the day of the elections.
