President Thaçi received the Secretary General of the Muslim World League, Mohammed bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa

Prishtina, March 14, 2017 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, received today the Secretary General of the Muslim World League, Mohammed bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa.

The Head of State thanked Secretary Mohammed bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa for the visit and the support that Saudi Arabia has given to Kosovo.

“Considering the special impact that the Saudi state has on the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), an organization which into its ranks has 57 member states, the Republic of Kosovo is very grateful for the continued efforts of your lobbying for the recognition of Kosovo’s independence by the OIC member states, which still have not recognized it”, said President Thaçi.

On the other hand, the Secretary General of the Muslim World League, Mohammed bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, stated that the cause of Kosovo for independence was correct and that it is embarrassing that some Islamic countries have not recognized Kosovo, which, according to him, has an impact also on other countries worldwide.

“Kosovo is a model of tolerance, coexistence and understanding throughout the world, values cultivated by the OBI and which certainly will affect the recognition of Kosovo by the remaining member states of this organization”, said Karim Al-Issa.

President Thaçi expressed his gratitude for the commitment of the Secretary General of the Muslim World League for intensified engagements in support of the consolidation of Kosovo’s international position.
