Preparatory Team for the Establishment of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission approved its Rules and Procedure and Work Plan

Prishtina, July 12th – The Preparatory Team for the Establishment of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, established by the President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, held today its regular meeting and in it he approved its Rules and Procedure, as well as its Work Plan.

The Preparatory Team has been established in order to build the technical and legal infrastructure for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. It consists of 4 representatives of state institutions, Presidency, Government, and Parliament of Kosovo and 5 representatives of civil society and experts in facing of the past processes.

This team is active from May 1st 2018 and meets on regular weekly basis.

With the approval of the foundational documentation of the Preparatory Team, its work will now concentrate on preparation of legal acts, necessary documentation and work spaces for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

The Preparatory team has an 18 month time frame for accomplish its duties.
